Campus ambassadors

You know which bars are packed. Get paid to fix their lines.

Beer Appear lets guests order and pay from their phone by tapping a tag, so bartenders spend their night pouring instead of ringing up orders. We're looking for students who know the bars in their town to introduce us to the owners, and we pay you for every bar that goes live.

21 and over · Flexible hours, around your classes · Paid per bar, plus a share of what it earns

What you'd do

Open doors. We'll do the rest.

You're the local expert. We bring the product, the demo and the setup.

1

Point us at the right bars

We send you a list of the busiest bars in your town. You tell us which are really packed Thursday to Saturday, which card everyone at the door, and who actually runs the place.

2

Make the introduction

Bring us to an owner or manager, or show them the demo yourself: they tap a real tag, order, and watch it land on the bar station behind the bar. Afternoons are best, when the bar's quiet.

3

Help them go live

Photograph the menu, stick tags on the rails and tables, and be there for the first big night. We handle the account, payments and training.

Pay

Paid for bars that actually use it

Not for sign-ups: for bars whose guests are ordering. Everything is tracked with your own referral link.

$150

Per bar that goes live

Once a bar you brought in reaches 100 paid app orders. At a busy bar that's usually the first weekend or two.

10%

Of what the bar earns us

A tenth of Beer Appear's fees from each of your bars, every month, for the rest of the school year.

$50

Per ambassador you recruit

Share your link with a friend at another school. When their first bar goes live, you both get paid.

Paid monthly as an independent contractor. You'll get a W-9 to fill in before your first payment.

Who we're looking for

Students who know the bar scene

  • 21 or older. The job is in bars, so there are no exceptions.
  • A student at, or recent grad of, a school with a real bar strip nearby.
  • You bartend, barback, promote, or just know the owners and managers by name. Bar staff make the best ambassadors.
  • Comfortable walking into a bar at 3pm and asking for the owner.
  • A few hours a week. You choose when.

The ground rules

How we work

  • You pitch to owners and managers, not to other students. No posting drink specials, no promoting drinking.
  • We only work with bars that check everyone's ID at the door. If a bar has 18+ nights, it isn't a fit.
  • You never handle money, card details or a bar's payment setup. The owner does that with us.
  • Be honest about what Beer Appear does and costs. Our page for bars has the details.

Apply

Tell us about you and your town

We read every application and reply within a few days. If it's a fit, we'll set up a 15-minute call and send your kit: the bar list for your town, demo tags and a leave-behind for owners.

We use what you send only to review your application and contact you about the program. See our privacy policy.

FAQ

Questions

Do I need sales experience?

No. Knowing the bars and the people who run them matters far more. We give you a short script and the demo, and we can join you, or take over, once an owner is interested.

What do bars get out of it?

On a packed night, guests who want another drink give up when the bar is three deep. With Beer Appear they tap a tag, order and pay from their phone, and the bartender just pours and hands it over. No app to download, no monthly fee: bars pay 2% per order. Details are on our page for bars.

How do I know a bar counts as mine?

Send owners your referral link, or tell us about the bar before we reach out. When we set the bar up, we credit it to you, and you can ask us for your list at any time.

Why only bars that card at the door?

When guests order from their phone, the bartender doesn't check ID at the moment of ordering. So we only work with bars where everyone inside is 21 or over. Bars confirm it when they sign up, and staff confirm it again on the bar station every night before app orders open. It keeps them (and you) out of trouble.

Can I do this in more than one town?

Start with one. Once your first bars are live, we'll talk about more, or you can recruit a friend for the next town.
